The URV Art Classroom presents the exhibition With God's Fingers Around the Neck, Jordi Martorell's new project, a reflection on the tension between technology and matter, between critical thinking and the fragility of the present. Based on an image that emerged from a dream and reformulated with artificial intelligence, the artist reconstructs the forms using traditional techniques - charcoal, graphite, pastel or watercolor - generating a productive friction between the digital and the manual.
The works, installed in carpet format at the entrances to the CRAI campus Catalunya of the URV, also incorporate a selection of essay books that have accompanied the creative process and become a key to reading it. The exhibition proposes an accessible but demanding dialogue, which claims materiality, symbology and the capacity of art to interrogate our time.
The exhibition presentation event will take place next Thursday, December 18 at 7 p.m. at the CRAI campus Catalonia facilities of the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona.
