In order to commemorate the “International Day of Asperger Syndrome "(February 18)" at CRAI Medicine and Health Sciences, they have prepared a center of interest and a virtual guide with informationand different resources on this topic. This date coincides with the birth of Hans Asperger, the pediatrician who first described the profile within what we know today as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Asperger syndrome is characterized by social difficulties, need for routines, very intense interests and possible sensory sensitivities, but without language delay or intellectual disability. It is not a disease, but a different way of perceiving and relating to the world.
The objective of this guide is to make this condition a little more visible and promote awareness through knowledge, favoring respect and understanding towards neurological diversity, while demanding a more inclusive and accessible university.
