Center of interest "World Day for Rare Diseases (February 28)" of the Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI

From to

Virtual and Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI

On the occasion of World Day for Rare Diseases, which is celebrated on February 28, the Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI offers a collection of resources on the subject. The objective of this world day, promoted by the European Organization for Minority Diseases (EURORDIS), is to raise awareness of rare diseases and position them as a social and health priority.

Rare diseases are serious, rare and affect 5 out of 10,000 people. There are more than 7,000, 80% of which are of genetic origin. They generally involve various organs and affect the physical capacities, mental abilities, and sensory and behavioral qualities of the sufferers. They can appear from birth or childhood, but some do not manifest until adulthood.

The center of interest is available in the lobby of the Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI and the online version can also be consulted.
