Exhibition "Heroic Tarragona" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

From to

Catalunya campus CRAI

Heroes and heroines are a reference that metaphorically show us how we are or how we want to become. These characters embody universal ideals and, in turn, are linked to our time.

In this exhibition we are invited to discover heroic characters who have left their mark on our city and who are related to our past and, who knows, also to our future.

It consists of 6 panels where the life of 5 heroic characters from the city of Tarragona is explained and where questions are asked about them, which they must try to solve. By reading a QR code you can check the answers

This exhibition was co-organized by the Tarragona City Council Youth Department, the Tarragona Public Library (Generalitat de Catalunya), the URV Folklore Archive and the Tarragona School of Letters with the collaboration and participation of the educational community ILEC Tarragona .

Exhibition "The birds sang despite the cold" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

From to

CRAI campus Catalunya

The URV's Art Classroom, in its programming, has invited the artist Ro Caminal to exhibit his work at the Catalunya campus CRAI. The exhibition, under the name "The birds sang despite the cold", can be visited from June 9 to 30.

The work, in audiovisual format, presents "a vindication of the oral story as a means to preserve the history of those whom official history has forgotten. An exercise in the construction and preservation of popular memory. Personal memories about the cultivation of olives, as a starting point to reconstruct, through daily micro stories, the life of rural Catalonia after the war. A juxtaposition of temporalities: the current, agitated and represented by the voice, and the past, rested and represented by images".

The project was carried out for Cal Cego, with the collaboration of the elderly people of La Juncosa del Montmell (Tarragona). Although it is a contextual project, it is representative, by extension, of so many other places of the rural Catalonia.
