Exhibition " Plastic Dystopias" Catalunya campus CRAI

From to

Catalunya Campus CRAI

The Catalunya campus CRAI, resumes the activity of the Art Classroom, after two years of inactivity due to the pandemic, hosting the exhibition "Plastic Dystopias", by the artist and environmental activist Jordi Llort-Figuerola. This, through plastic waste that cannot be recycled and that the sea has deposited on the beaches of Tarragona, has made a work that exposes the contamination of our coastline.

The sample is structured in four areas. One of them, called The Time Capsule, contains small recovered objects, petrified in resin molds, and impregnated with ultraviolet pigments that glow in the dark. They are archaeological remains of contemporary life.

Another part of the work is made up of the section called Human Petroleum. It is a mobile sculpture of a human-shaped puppet, made with melted plastic pellets.

Also noteworthy is the reinterpretation of The tapestry de Tarragona, by Joan Miró and Josep Royo.

You will meet Jordi Llort-Figuerola's alter ego: Plastic Hunter. It is about a superhero who hunts litter from the coast, leaving evidence of it with a sample of suits.

Finally, you will discover the tools that the artist uses and the notebook where he documents the findings and outlines his future works.

You can enjoy visiting it in the hall of the CRAI campus Catalunya.
