Exhibition "The Contribution of Ethical Finance and Fair Trade to the SDGs" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

From to

Catalunya campus CRAI

The Coordi - Fair Trade and Ethical Finance - propose the exhibition "The Contribution of Ethical Finance and Fair Trade to the SDGs" to bring us closer to fair trade on the occasion of World Fair Trade Day, May 10.

World Fair Trade Day is celebrated worldwide on the second Saturday of May and its purpose is to highlight the contributions to the fight against poverty, exploitation and climate change through fair trade. To make known that another economy is possible, where people and the planet are ahead of economic profit. The fair trade movement ensures that workers around the world are treated fairly with decent wages and working conditions.

The exhibition, organized by the Office of Equality and Social Commitment, shows, on the one hand, the link between Ethical Finance and Fair Trade, and their contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. On the other hand, it tells the life stories of people from the Global South who have received microcredits granted by Oikocredit partner organizations. The majority of these people are women, and their experiences are inspiring cases of female empowerment.

Exhibition "Silenced Voices" at Bellissens campus CRAI

From to

Bellissens campus CRAI

The Bellissens campus CRAI hosts the "Silenced Voices" exhibition, a project with which the Journalists' Association of Catalonia wants to pay tribute to the journalists murdered in Gaza, Lebanon and Israel.

This exhibition is a project that began in December 2023 at the Barcelona headquarters of the Journalists' Association of Catalonia. In the fall of 2024, given the persistence of the conflict and the increase in victims, the Journalism for Peace Working Group decided to expand this tribute and bring it to journalism universities in Catalonia to raise awareness about the risks of the profession in war zones and the fundamental role of journalism as a guarantor of the right to information.

It also wants to honor, vindicate and remember the 173 information professionals who have been murdered in the area since the conflict between Palestine and Israel escalated violently in October 2023.

The exhibition will be exhibited at all CRAI headquarters of the URV and, as a conclusion, will be installed from January 12 to 25, 2026 at the CRAI campus Catalunya, the center where degrees in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication are taught.

Exhibition "20 views on URV Publications. 20 years of books" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

From to

Catalunya campus CRAI

It has been more than twenty years since the publishing house Publicacions URV began its activity. Since then, we have made more than 500 monographs available to everyone, both in paper and digital format. Today we offer you a small sample of all this activity.

This exhibition consists of twenty book covers. Most of them are works of art in different styles and techniques that act as a portico for our books; works, in fact, not initially intended by their creators for this purpose. That is why for one day we are giving prominence to the cover in addition to giving it to the content of the publications.

We wanted to complement these images with a sample of our magazines and information about open access dissemination.

You also have at your disposal a set in paper format of the titles where the covers appear, so that you can touch, open and read our books, and thanks to the CRAI of the URV you can take them home.

And, in addition, you can also watch a series of interviews with authors of our publications and listen to the latest episodes of our podcast Compaginades.

Exhibition "Paco Aguilera Painting Award" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

From to

Catalunya campus CRAI

The Villablanca Foundation has promoted the first edition of the Paco Aguilera Painting Award, an initiative born from the passion to stimulate, promote and give visibility to the artistic creativity of adults with intellectual disabilities. This award is a tribute to the transformative power of art, a tool that transcends barriers and becomes a universal language of inclusion and social recognition, it is a more natural, spontaneous and unique form of expression.

The name of the award, Paco Aguilera, pays tribute to an inspiring figure who, since 1993, dedicated his professional career to various services of the Pere Mata Group, and who in 2007 became the medical director of Villablanca, a position he held until his passing in 2020. His conviction in art as a means of expression and integration for people with intellectual disabilities is the legacy that we celebrate today with this award.

In this first edition, we had the participation of 127 artists from 28 entities. Last December, as part of the activities commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Reus, we held the award ceremony for the three winning works and the twenty finalists.

The exhibition will be displayed in the lobby of the CRAI campus Catalunya, we invite you to let yourself be captivated by art and enjoy every stroke and color that reflects the soul of the artists.
