CRAI campus Catalunya

The URV Art Room, in its programming, has invited the artist Manuel Alcalá to exhibit his work at the CRAI Campus Catalunya. The exhibition, under the number "Dins/Ara/Aquí", can be visited from October 20 to November 16.

The Aula de Arte de URV introduces us to the artistic work of Manuel Alcalá where "the trajectories overlap, grow following imaginary lines of flight, monochrome planes that add up to build three-dimensional bodies..."

This exhibition was inaugurated on October 20, where the Op Art video was shown showing the artist's working methodology and putting his work in context.

Exhibition "Views of the World" at the Terres de l'Ebre campus CRAI

From to

Terres de l’Ebre campus CRAI

The exhibition consists of six panels of "Women of the World" that are the result of a project carried out by the NGO Mirades del Món and the Óscar Romero Solidarity Committee.

During the 2022/2023 academic year, 3rd grade students from six schools in Tarragona (La Salle Tarragona, Marcel·lí Domingo School, Lestonnac Tarragona School, CampClar School, CEEP Sant Rafael and El Serrallo School) have learned the reality of six women from the world with the help of different NGOs that work with children and women around the world (ECCIT, Fundación Vicente Ferrer, Aldea Yanapay, AfricaNdoto, Kolam, Proide and Dream Nepal). Once the schools have learned about the reality of women, several illustrators have helped the children make an illustration of the different realities.

The children who made the drawings are: Berta Artigal, Carla Brota, Namibia Coronado, Tati Ayala, Vanessa Castro and Gabriela Basin.

International Open Access Week 2023

From to

virtual and campus CRAI

From October 23 to 29, International Open Access Week 2023 is celebrated, an annual initiative to promote open access to the world of academia and research. This year, the theme is "Community or Commercialization" and aims to foster conversation about open science approaches that prioritize the best interests of the public and academic community.

At the URV, 63% of the scientific publications made by researchers in 2022 were open access. That year, the University allocated up to 381,025 euros for the publication of open access articles.

To disseminate and learn the benefits of publishing in open access, the CRAI has prepared different activities:

Library Day (October 24, 2023)

Virtual

On the occasion of Library Day (October 24), at CRAI we have prepared a very visual virtual center of interest where you can discover:

  • "Libraries of the world." CRAI's working staff recommend libraries around the world that they have visited at some time and that have a special interest, whether because of the architecture, the collections, the types of services they offer, etc. In parallel, we invite you to recommend your "world libraries" through the posts that we will publish throughout the day on our social networks: Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
  •  "Libraries and books in literature, cinema and social networks." Selection of books, comics, movies, documentaries, series, social networks, booktubers, bookgramers or booktokers made thanks to the collaboration of all the CRAI working staff.
  • "Get to know our libraries." It contains the presentation videos of all the URV campus CRAIs.

The theme of this edition of Library Day is "Weaving communities" and focuses on highlighting the fundamental role that libraries play in building strong ties within our communities. They are centers of connection and learning, where stories, experiences and knowledge are the threads that unite citizens.
