The Vila-Seca campus CRAI has prepared a center of interest with the materials recently acquired thanks to the URV Agreement with the Tarragona Provincial Council: board games, popular books, high school readings, language books, etc.

Located in the CRAI lobby, it consists of the collection of documents and board games acquired. It can also be consulted online in the guide Vila-seca campus CRAI: High School Books.

The Agreement facilitates access for high school students and higher vocational training cycles from Tortosa, Roquetes, Vila-Seca, Comarruga and El Vendrell to the CRAI of the URV, at its headquarters on the Terres de l'Ebre, Vila-Seca and Baix Penedès campuses, respectively.

Exhibition "Agricultural collectivities in the Penedès, 1936-1939" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

Lobby of the Catalunya campus CRAI

The exhibition is curated by Ramon Arnabat Mata and Guillem Puig Valverdú and produced by the Instituto de Estudios Penedesenses with the support of the Democratic Memorial and the Ministry of the Presidency. Through 15 panels, the formation and operation of the agricultural communities in Penedès during the Spanish Civil War are explained. The objective is to facilitate the understanding of these community peasant initiatives within the framework of the economic and social transformations that took place in Catalonia from July 1936.

Center of interest "World Day for Rare Diseases (February 28)" of the Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI

On the occasion of World Day for Rare Diseases, which is celebrated on February 28, the Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI offers a collection of resources on the subject. The objective of this world day, promoted by the European Organization for Minority Diseases (EURORDIS), is to raise awareness of rare diseases and position them as a social and health priority.

Rare diseases are serious, rare and affect 5 out of 10,000 people. There are more than 7,000, 80% of which are of genetic origin. They generally involve various organs and affect the physical capacities, mental abilities, and sensory and behavioral qualities of the sufferers. They can appear from birth or childhood, but some do not manifest until adulthood.

The center of interest is available in the lobby of the Medicine and Health Sciences CRAI and the online version can also be consulted.

On the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8), the CRAI has prepared activities in collaboration with the Equality Unit of the URV.


Activity 1

Description: exhibition of information resources related to women and feminism. Movies, illustrated books, essay books are some of the materials that can be consulted and also borrowed.

Title: Guide "International Women's Day (March 8)"

Place: Online

Dates: permanent availability.

Description: compilation of activities and resources (internationally, from the URV and from the CRAI) on 8M, women and feminism.

Activity 3

Title: #lesNostres8M (selection of Catalan novel authors)

Place: Twitter and Instagram of the CRAI

Dates: from March 6 to 10.

Description: quiz game on Instagram about Catalan novel authors with a final raffle for a batch of products among all the participants. In parallel, more information about each of the authors and works will be disseminated via Twitter.

Exhibition "#MusicalSpring" at the Catalunya campus CRAI

From March 9 to 31, you can visit the exhibition #Musical Spring: Valencian music revives in the lobby of the Catalunya campus CRAI.

The exhibition reviews the last two decades of Valencian music, groups and artists, from the late 90s to the present. You can find songs, graphic art, literature, festivals, periodicals, and student activities.

The opening ceremony is on Thursday, March 9, starting at 11:30 a.m. at the CRAI, and then at 12:30 p.m., there will be a concert by the group Jazzmatiks from the Valencian Country in the Aula Magna of the campus.

The exhibition is also included in the program of activities of the institutes of Tarragona. Throughout the month of March, it has been planned that different groups of students from the institutes will visit the Catalunya campus CRAI to see the exhibition.

I Cycle of online Training of the Scopus database

From March 20 to 24, FECYT and Elsevier organize the I Cycle of online Training of the Scopus database. Its objective is make to researchers, students and library staff aware of the updates of the datebase and the new functionalities designed for institutions.

In this edition the following 10 free courses have been scheduled, lasting one hour and in Spanish. Registration is open:

From here, you can choose the session or sessions of your interest. Use the institutional mail of the URV when filling in the registration form. Once formalized, you will receive a confirmation email that must be saved because it contains the link to access the session on the day and time indicated. Check your spam folder if you haven't received it.

All users who take the courses and answer the 100% of all online questions that will be asked live during the session, will receive by email a satisfaction survey and, a few weeks later, the certificate of attendance.

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, which is celebrated on March 24, the CRAI Medicine and Health Sciences offers you a series of resources on the subject. Tuberculosis remains one of the deadliest infectious diseases. Every day in the world more than 4,000 people die and about 30,000 are infected. Tuberculosis usually has a slow course (over months or even years), but it can present in an acute and more serious form in people with poor defenses, such as children, the elderly, people with the virus AIDS or cancer or diabetes. Since the year 2000, 66 million lives have been saved thanks to diagnosis and treatment.

On that date, we commemorate the day that dr. Robert Koch announced, in 1882, the discovery of the bacterium that causes tuberculosis, which facilitated the diagnosis and care of this disease.
